Dear readers,
Today’s discussion revolves around a deeply concerning issue lurking within our schools, an issue affecting our nation’s future – our children. The problem at hand is not about education policies or digital screen time. It’s about something far more insidious, something that’s happening right under our noses. Our children are being subjected to harmful chemicals present in their school lunches.
Moms Across America, a national non-profit organization committed to ensuring our children’s health and safety, recently conducted an investigation. They tested 43 school lunch samples from different parts of the country. The results were, quite frankly, alarming.
A staggering 95.3% of the school lunch items tested contained glyphosate. This is no ordinary chemical. Glyphosate is a known carcinogen, associated with endocrine disruption and liver disease. Almost every lunch item being served to our children in schools across the nation contains this potentially harmful substance.
You might hope that at least these meals have some nutritional value. Unfortunately, the majority of the samples were found to be woefully low in essential nutrients. It’s a double blow. Our children’s meals are laced with harmful chemicals and are deficient in the nutrients necessary for their growth and development.

The alarming revelations don’t stop at glyphosate. The investigation found that 74% of the samples contained at least one of 29 harmful pesticides. These are pesticides that our children ingest every single day.
Even more shocking is the presence of heavy metals in these lunches. These samples contained heavy metals at levels up to 6,293 times higher than what the Environmental Protection Agency allows in drinking water. These aren’t negligible amounts. These are levels that can have serious implications on our children’s health.
The effects of these harmful chemicals and heavy metals on the human body are well-documented. They have been linked to neurodevelopment disturbances, immune system damage, hormone disruption, cancer, liver disease, tumors, and more. The lack of proper nutrients further compounds these health risks. Nutrition is crucial for brain function and overall physical development, particularly in growing children.
For many children, especially those from underserved communities, school meals are often the only meals they consume. We’re not talking about a handful of kids here. We’re talking about millions of children across America who are being served a toxic and nutrient-deficient food cocktail every day.
This issue is a wake-up call for all of us. It’s a call to action. We owe it to our children, to our future, to ensure that their school meals are safe, nutritious, and free from harmful chemicals. We need to demand better for our children.
The findings of this report are a red flag. They highlight a silent enemy infiltrating our schools, affecting our children, and potentially shaping our nation’s future. I urge you all to read the full report and join me in demanding better, safer, and more nutritious food for our children. They deserve nothing less.
Thank you for joining me in this crucial mission. Let’s stand together and ensure the health and safety of our children.
