20-Min Carnivore Feast with Ground Lamb

No Nonsense Introduction

This nutrient-packed, carnivore diet-friendly recipe serves 1-2 people and can be ready in less than 30 minutes.

Not only does it deliver a hefty dose of protein and essential nutrients through the ground lamb, but it also can provide beneficial probiotics, which are useful for maintaining a healthy gut microbiome, from the optional fermented kimchi and cultured sour cream.

The carnivore diet is centered around consuming animal products only, eliminating most plant-based foods. It emphasizes high amounts of protein and fats, and lamb is an excellent choice as it’s rich in complete proteins, essential amino acids, and healthy fats. This diet is chosen by many for its potential benefits, such as weight loss, reduced inflammation, and improved blood sugar control.

Probiotics, which are live bacteria and yeasts beneficial for your health, especially your digestive system, can be obtained from the fermented kimchi and cultured sour cream. They help balance your gut’s microbiota, aid digestion, and boost immunity. Although the carnivore diet is typically low in fiber, these probiotic-rich foods can still support a healthy gut environment, and they have enzymes that help break down your food. Just something I do occasionally.

Instructions:

  1. Heat a skillet over low, medium heat and add the ground lamb. Break up the meat with a spatula and cook, stirring occasionally, until it’s no longer pink.

  2. Sprinkle Redmond’s sea salt over the lamb according to your taste preference. If you’re using oregano, add it in now and mix well with the lamb.

  3. Continue cooking the lamb over low-medium heat until fully cooked. This method helps to avoid any splashing and retains the juicy flavor of the lamb.

  4. Once cooked, turn off the heat. If you’re including fermented kimchi, now is the time to prepare it, ensuring you don’t heat the kimchi to keep the beneficial bacteria alive.A serving of a carnivore diet recipe featuring sautéed ground lamb, garnished with optional fermented kimchi and Good Culture, Cultured Sour Cream, prepared by James Miller of the Motivated Endeavors Podcast

  5. Serve the cooked lamb with a dollop of cultured sour cream on top. If you’re using fermented kimchi, add this on the side.

  6. If your partner prefers, serve an avocado on the side, a great source of healthy fats and fiber, which can be beneficial even on a carnivore diet.

Enjoy this savory, nutrient-dense meal that’s fully compliant with the carnivore diet, yet with options to add a punch of flavor and probiotic goodness!
